Project Background and Aims

Bitesize Biosecurity resources have been developed through funding from the Scottish Government’s Rural Affairs and the Environment Portfolio: Strategic Research Programme 2022-2027, Programme A, Theme 2, Project “Achieving Improvements in the Health of Scottish Livestock Through Increased Uptake of Biosecurity Practices” and the SEFARI Gateway’s Innovative and Knowledge Exchange Fund.

The project is led by a research team within the Population Health, Disease and Surveillance section at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences based at the Rural and Veterinary Innovation Centre in Inverness and has drawn from expertise across various SRUC campuses and collaborators.

Bitesize Biosecurity is a collection of resources for farmers and vets to help limit the risk of disease in livestock

SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) is a company limited by guarantee (SC103046) and is a registered Scottish charity (SC003712).

SRUC School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences is the newest vet school in Scotland, the first to be established in over 150 years. It specialises in the use of innovative teaching methods to prepare students for work in rural mixed practice, agricultural and food sectors.
